3 Ways to Level Up Your Life and Ultimately Your Business

Leveling up your life is essential to running a successful virtual assistant or freelance business. Today, I am giving you three ways to level up your life that you can apply to your personal life, business life, and everyday life. These are the three things that have helped me rise above the norm. In fact, you don't need to be a freelancer to level up your life. You can do these things if you're a nurse, a teacher, in a corporate position, a manager, or even a CEO.

Waking Up Early and Taking Time For Yourself

If you're ready to level up your life, you need to wake up early and take some time for yourself. I wake up around 5 AM to take "me time." This is a time to get in a clear headspace to make sure that I know what my daily tasks are, both personal and business. I also take that time to reflect. I journal, do my devotionals, soak in that morning's goodness, and what the potential holds for the day. For me personally, I have to do that first thing in the morning.

Now I have friends that like to take their "me time" in the evening, which is also fine! Take it wherever you can. But I need my cup filled first thing in the morning, every morning, to have a successful day for me, my kids, my family, and my business.

Putting What You Truly Value First

I value my family time with my kids, which goes above anything else I do. In the beginning, I got wrapped up in the hustle of being a freelancer, being a business owner, and working for myself. I found myself lacking in the area of spending quality time with my kids and my family. When Kenzie was probably around two years old, I found myself not putting her first. I look back now, and it breaks my heart that that happened.

I have a really great support system, and we have a great support system in the Virtually Free Community if you need one! Join us here! But my support system helped me be accountable and helped me to realize that I was not putting family first. If you don't have somebody to help you navigate through that, join the community. You do not have to be a member of the Virtually Free Academy to join this, but it puts into perspective the balance and why we do what we do. When I go to bed at the end of the day, I can say I put my kids and my family first, which is what I value the most, apart from my relationship with God. Everything else comes after that.

Have A Goal For the Greater Good and For Yourself

My goal was to work from home, keep Kenzie and Nixon out of daycare, and make great money while doing so. That's what I've been able to do, and because of that, I'm a better person; I'm happier, more carefree, more relaxed, and less stressed. Another goal that my husband and I have set together is to give back. I've been able to do that by giving out free scholarships to my program because I see the need and struggle of some moms and women.

I give those out when I have workshop weeks. When you come to my workshops and do the tasks and homework that I assigned, you're eligible for free scholarships to my academy once you turn it in. Having a goal for yourself could be a monetary goal but also a goal that helps others, or the community, fulfills something that nothing else can. When you start giving back, it's like you didn't even know that void was there.

What Does It Mean to Level Up Your Life?

Leveling up your life means you are bettering yourself by stepping into a higher version of you, which ultimately means you are happier, have more energy, and are more joyful. Leveling up affects everything, including those around you, like your peers, co-workers, your children, partner, spouse, and your work ethic. When I say leveling up, I'm not talking about breaking glass ceilings and becoming the first woman to do something major…I'm talking about the small little things you can do daily to help yourself become a better human!

My work days, values, and personal goals might look completely different than yours. But at the end of the day, we all want to be better human beings. So if you are ready to live virtually free, the three ways that you can start are to get freedom for yourself in the morning, have the freedom to be with your family more or to travel more, and then give yourself the freedom to set big goals.
